Get to Know Oregon Golf's Norman Xiong


No NCAA golfer is on more of a roll than Oregon's own Norman Xiong. The Duck sophomore has won three consecutive competitions, including his most recent triumph at the Western Intercollegiate. 

As one of the rising stars in men's golf, we thought it's time to introduce you to Xiong, allowing fans a chance to get to know the squad's leader.

Get to Know...Norman Xiong

Xiong started golfing when he was only four years old.

Born in Guam, Xiong moved to San Diego when he was six.

After dominating the high school ranks, Xiong graduated early and enrolled at the University of Oregon when he was 17.

Known for his driver, Xiong consistently has 300+ yard shots off the tee.

The sophomore ranks #4 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and is poised to rise in the ranks, having beat the #3 ranked player this past weekend.

Xiong holds the record for most wins in Oregon Golf history with six.

The California native intends to turn pro after the NCAA Championships later this spring, according to a recent NCAA article.
